As the summer draws to an end and we all begin to cosy down for the colder months, it's the perfect time to take a moment to adjust our interior spaces to suit the slower pace of the upcoming season. Autumn is our favourite season in Nepal because it is awash with festivities and spiritual celebrations. It’s a moment in the year when we can sit back and take stock of what we’ve achieved, as well as a time to look at what we can do to ready ourselves and our spaces for the year’s end.
Whether you enjoy seasonal decor changes or your home style is evergreen, introducing natural textures and a warm palette can transition your home from a summer sanctuary to a cosy indoor retreat.
Our choice of colour is deliberately reflective of the relationship between Nepalese spiritualism and art, with palettes that present emotive interpretations of how different hues affect our sense of self and wellbeing. For autumn 2020, we recommend yellows, oranges and lustrous greens that marry together feelings of internal warmth, positivity and collaboration. We're also looking to glimmers of sensual golds against natural and earthy tones, to encourage an interior scape that unites nature with grandeur - a welcoming juxtaposition to settle into after a long day.
Our autumns are punctuated by long evenings snuggled under blankets in our living rooms with the textural comforts and warmth of natural fibres. We adore the tactility of Tibetan wool underfoot, and the delicate softness of yak wool and for us, nothing quite welcomes the cold season, invokes relaxation and encourages slow paced moments of calm like reams of delicately soft and warming textiles.
